Alternative energy production by means of renewable sources is at the heart of SECI Energia, which combines the industrial Group’s historical know-how with the innovative push provided by its new components. Founded in 2006, SECI Energia is the sub-holding in the energy sector; through its operating companies in which it holds the shares, SECI Energia oversees the markets of renewable sources in Italy and abroad, working in the design, construction, management and maintenance of facilities for the production of renewable energy. The historical tendency to diversification, enriched by a relevant know-how in the industrial plant engineering and in the agro-industrial sector, led SECI Energia to operate successfully in all fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency: from biomass to biogas, from wind and photovoltaics to hydropower, energy recovery and energy management efficiency.
Founded in 2007, Enerray is a leading company in the design, construction and management of medium and large industrial photovoltaic systems, both for third-party systems and proprietary systems. Enerray offers “turnkey solutions” for photovoltaic systems, located on roofs, canopies, green houses and on the ground, serving as a reliable partner able to guarantee the top performance and functionality for our systems, with the support of a specialized Operation & Maintenance service.
Agripower participates and manages 18 biogas plants for the production of electric energy, also in partnership with farmers. From 2015, with its own Service Division, Agripower offers O&M services for biogas installations on the Italian territory, providing organic, agronomic, technical and operational support.
Powercrop, a joint venture of Seci Energia and Enel Green Power, was established for the conversion of sugar refineries into plants for the production of electricity fuelled with biomass and / or vegetable oils from agro-forestry sectors. In particular, the ongoing projects involving the sites of Russi (Ravenna – Italy) and Macchiareddu (Cagliari – Italy), have been developed respecting the environment and the integration into the landscape of the concerned territories.
SECI Servizi Agronomici, operational since 2014, is composed of expert agronomists in the agro-industrial sector, for the management of the supply chains and the setting up of new production activities emerging from new market opportunities.
As part of the Italian-Serbian agreements, SECI Energia controls, in partnership with the Serbian state company Elektropriveda, the company Ibarske Hidroelektrane, set up to build five hydroelectric plants on the Ibar river for a total power of 117 MW. Besides these facilities, SECI Energia is planning to develop other hydroelectric power plants on the Balkan territory.
SECI Energia, in partnership with Avio Group, established Termica Colleferro, a company that manages a combined-cycle power plant in cogeneration mode of 41 MW, located at the Avio industrial complex in Colleferro (Rome).
